OverviewClipVault is a Chrome extension that helps you save and organize content from AI platforms. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data stored locally on your deviceClipVault stores the following data in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it, or use the AI-answer feature described below:

• Clips, bookmarks, and saved answers you create
• Folders and tags you organize your content with
• Your tooltip and settings preferences
• An anonymous user ID used solely for analytics

AI-answer featureWhen you use ClipVault's AI-answer feature, the relevant saved clip content is sent to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com) to generate a response. This content is used only to generate that response and is subject to Anthropic's own privacy practices. You can use ClipVault's core save, organize, and search features without ever triggering this data flow.

Anonymous analyticsClipVault collects anonymous usage events to help us understand how the product is used. This includes events such as opening the panel, saving a clip, and saving an answer. No personally identifiable information is included in these events. Analytics are processed by PostHog and stored in our Supabase database. Your anonymous ID cannot be used to identify you.

Survey responsesAfter 10 days of use, ClipVault may ask you a short optional survey about your experience. If you choose to provide your email address for a user interview, that email is stored securely in our database and used only to contact you about a product feedback session. It is never shared with third parties or used for marketing.

Data we do not collectWe do not collect:

• Your name, account information, or identity
• Browsing history outside of supported AI platforms
• Any data from websites other than ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity

Third party servicesClipVault uses the following third party services:

• PostHog — anonymous product analytics
• Supabase — secure database for anonymous events and optional survey responses
• Anthropic API — used only when you actively trigger the AI-answer feature, to generate a response from your saved clip content

These services are used solely for product functionality and improvement, and are not permitted to use your data for advertising or other purposes.

Data retention and deletionYou can export or delete all your locally stored data at any time from the Settings panel within ClipVault. To request deletion of any analytics data or survey responses associated with your anonymous ID, contact us at the email below.
